For the past couple of months, I’ve been wrapping my brain around the notion of print-on-demand(P.O.D). However, the only problem was that my love for painting is more prominent than being a full time P.O.D digital artist. I would rather be spending more time painting and making prints or gift cards for my paintings V.S. making t-shirt designs all day with simpler designs. Of course I would have my own design and theme but painting is my passion!! My dream is to become a full time artist with a style that people recognize is mine. P.O.D has been taken by storm. How do I do P.O.D without it turning into my full time job? Then, I had an idea!!
What if instead of creating a bunch of P.O.D merch( believe me, have seriously put a lot of thought into being a P.O.D. digital artist) and random digital art, what I’ll do instead is after creating a painting, I’ll start to make stickers advertising that painting. Pulling certain characters or elements from that painting. Maybe even putting those characters on mugs or cards too! Eventually, when I start to do art shows, I’ll have stickers laid out on my table representing the paintings! Mini merch is what I like to call it. Here’s an example of one I just did!

As you can see, I pulled the toad out of this painting. Right now, I’m getting an inventory going. Might do red bubble for these but, we will see!! Eventually, I will make a design for this painting too!! I’m really excited for this one! In the mean time, stay tune for merch artsy peeps!!
