New Home🏠Touring In Jacksonville, Fl// Come Join Me Vlog//Comic Art

Hey Everyone,

Welcome Back Artsy Peeps To My Humble Abode!! Today you guys will be join in exploring my new home In Jacksonville Fl. I have created a video of this as well. Sit back, relax and enjoy!!

Destination 1: Fort Caroline National Memorial

First stop was the Fort Caroline National Memorial. Area of a historical French settlement. We decided to scope out the Timucuan Visitors Center to get a little taste of what the Native Americans and French used for everyday living before walking to the Fort. The center did a really great job with this.  We saw tools used to make canoes or scavenging for food, constellation mapping tools, types of animals and the Florida environment they endured. It’s pretty crazy to see how our ancestors were so resourceful and intelligent when it came to daily living. The trail on the way to the fort  was beautiful. Especially the massive oak trees covered in moss. Walking along the trail, we came a cross a round hut. Obviously, this was a hut currently build in present times. But was pretty neat never the less. Finally reaching the Fort, It was literally right on the shores of the St. Johns river. The fort actually wasn’t build until the 1960’s. Researchers estimated where the fort use to be then build a replica of the fort of what it looked like in the 1500 to 1600’s.The old fort didn’t stand chance over the test of time. Due to war with the Spanish, hurricanes, and just time itself. As I was scoping the Fort, looking out to the St. Johns river, I thought to myself just how crazy it was that I was standing on a war zone that happened a couple hundred years ago. Imaging how the French felt seeing a massive Spanish ship coming there way down the St. Johns river ready to take down the Fort and everyone there. The St. Johns river is now covered with million dollar houses, a Naval base, industrial ships and factories. Truly mind blowing for me. LRM_EXPORT_84087252743024_20190415_225632390

Destination 2: Ameila Island To Downtown Fernandina Main Street

The drive to Fernandina gave use a true taste of Florida. We crossed over the St. Johns River facing the beach and finally making it to Amelia Island covered in wet lands. A little more up north was Downtown Fernandina. Buildings from the early 1900’s now turned into boutique shops, coffee shops, art studios, restaurants, and brews. It was nice to spend the day with my family. I liked how this little historical town was close to the ocean. Finally ending the day with a car wash.

Destination 3: Downtown Jacksonville

Downtown Jacksonville holds Sweet Pete’s Candy Shop. A three story building with a restaurant and candy on the bottom, fudge and ice cream on the 2nd floor and toys on the 3rd floor. I also came across a massive peep. The only thing missing was the beret and skull mask :). We went on Wednesday so they were having an art walk going on. But what really made downtown special was the Museum Of Contemporary Art. They had this massive collage art wall. Close up it was just a bunch of cut up magazines. Perfect to take pictures next to. You had to take your shoes off and put booties on. I just didn’t feel like taking my heel boots off and instead took a picture next to a painting. IMG_20190404_160337_688

Destination 4: Battling In Five Points

Five Points is another area in downtown Jacksonville. My sister, mom, and I decided to play Pokemon Go (Mystic) while my sister (who lives in 5 Points) took us on a tour of the area. Beautiful parks with spectacular statues out look the St. Johns river. The shops where trendy, colorful, and fun. As always my family gets into everything. Any chance I get with them is truly a blessing. 20190405_145602
